Serious answers only, please, I would like to hear your opinions.
Include reasons for why you think so.

Actually, I was disappointed.

On election night, Obama delivered one of the greatest speeches I ever heard. It may be the fact that his victory speech set the bar so high, but I found his inaugural speech to be something less. Good, but not great.

President Kennedy's inaugural speech was a ringing bell, announcing a generational change and challenging both the nation and the world to join in reaching toward the future.

Given what he had shown us before, I expected the new president to follow his swearing-in with a similarly stirring speech. We didn't quite get that. Like I said, good but not great. The only part that sticks with me is this:

"As for our common defense, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals.
"Our founding fathers, faced with perils that we can scarcely imagine, drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man, a charter expanded by the blood of generations.
"Those ideals still light the world, and we will not give them up for expedience's sake."

The rest, sadly, was not very memorable.
